About Phillip Earle

Philip Earle grew up in the Labrador Straits and has spent his business career in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, developing and providing aviation services to communities throughout the region, as well as to the island of Newfoundland and into Quebec. Most recently, he was Vice President of Air Borealis, an Indigenous-owned airline serving Inuit and Innu communities across Labrador.

Through his role as a senior executive in Labrador aviation and his extensive community involvement, Philip has developed a strong appreciation for Labrador’s place within the province and the country. He has built long-standing and positive relationships with Indigenous communities and their leaders.

Philip has a deep knowledge of Labrador’s economy, its opportunities, and its challenges. He served on the Premier’s Economic Recovery Team and as a Commissioner with the province’s Independent Appointments Commission. In his business career, he placed a strong focus on advancing local talent into leadership roles within the airline sector.

Philip studied Power Engineering but began his career with Memorial University and Labrador’s municipalities, focusing on regional economic development in rural and Northern communities. Over the years, he has become an accomplished entrepreneur with demonstrated success in Indigenous business, logistics, mobile telecommunications and I.T., as well as in the commercial fishing sector.

Philip is a member of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Rotary Club, where he received the Paul Harris Fellow designation. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Air Transport Association of Canada and continues to be an active volunteer within the community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador, where he resides with his family
